Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown and crumble 2 pounds of ground beef until fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Make sure the meat is no longer pink and starts to sizzle with a rich, savory aroma. Once cooked, drain any excess grease to keep your Crock Pot Taco Sloppy Joes filling light and flavorful.
- Carefully move the drained ground beef into a 5-6 quart slow cooker. Use a spatula to ensure all the meat is transferred and break up any clumps.
- Add 16 ounces of refried beans, 10 ounces of enchilada sauce, one packet of taco seasoning, and 16 ounces of salsa into the slow cooker. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well integrated.
- Cover your slow cooker and set it to low heat, allowing it to cook for 4 hours. Check occasionally.
- After 4 hours, remove the lid and give the filling a gentle stir. Serve the hearty mixture on hamburger buns with your favorite optional toppings.
