Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook 2 cups of elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add 1 finely chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  4. Pour in 1 cup of tomato sauce and 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Add the drained macaroni to the skillet. Stir for 2-3 minutes until evenly coated.
  6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese on top. Cover and let sit for a couple of minutes until melted.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley or basil. Serve warm.
