Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt until combined. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time and mix well, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until no flour pockets remain.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Press half of the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  8. Drizzle caramel sauce over the dough, spreading evenly.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of remaining dough on top, spreading to cover.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
