Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by leaving your ½ cup of salted butter out at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter with the mashed roasted garlic, 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon each of chopped fresh thyme and rosemary, along with ¼ teaspoon of black pepper.
  3. Once combined, give your compound butter a taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  4. Spoon the butter mixture onto a piece of parchment paper or plastic wrap, roll it into a log shape, and securely twist the ends.
  5. Place your wrapped butter log in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up.
  6. Once chilled, unwrap the butter log and slice it into 8 even pats.
  7. Grill or cook your favorite steak to your desired doneness, then place a pat of the compound butter on top.
