Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat the plant-based milk in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds until warm but not boiling.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine strong white flour, dried yeast, soft brown sugar, and salt; stir until well blended.
- Add the warmed plant-based milk and olive oil to the dry ingredients; mix until it forms a shaggy dough.
- Flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Coat a mixing bowl with olive oil, place the dough inside, cover, and let it proof in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
- Line a baking tin with baking paper.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle approximately 12x18 inches.
- Spread soft brown sugar and cinnamon across the rolled dough, then distribute apple fruit filling.
- Carefully roll the dough tightly from one long side to form a cylinder.
- Slice the rolled dough into 1.5 to 2-inch thick pieces and place them in the prepared baking tin.
- Cover with cling film and let them prove for another 45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C (350 degrees F).
- Melt some vegan butter and brush it over the tops of each bun.
- Bake the buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the buns cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
