Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of fresh or frozen cranberries, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ½ cup of water. If desired, add the zest of one orange for an aromatic touch. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the cranberries pop and soften, about 5 minutes.
- Continue simmering the cranberry mixture for another 3–5 minutes until the liquid thickens into a syrupy consistency.
- Using a fine mesh sieve, strain the cranberry mixture into a bowl or jar, pressing down on the solids to squeeze out as much syrup as possible.
- Fill a copper mug or tumbler with ice cubes to keep your drink refreshing and chilled.
- Pour in 2 oz of vodka, followed by 1 oz of cranberry syrup, and finish with ½ oz of freshly squeezed lime juice.
- Top your cocktail with 4 oz of chilled ginger beer, gently stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 10 seconds.
- Garnish your cocktail with fresh cranberries, a lime wedge, and if you like, a sprig of mint or rosemary.

Notes
For best flavor, use fresh cranberries and choose a high-quality ginger beer. You can create a non-alcoholic version by substituting vodka with more ginger beer or sparkling water.
